Storybook Topic Research

So I really want to focus on the idea that Gods are immortal. In Greek, Roman and even Norse mythology, the God's intermingled with humans. Now that no one worships or believes in the them, they have had to take up jobs suitable to their skillset.  In order to tell this story, I want to be the news breaking reporter who tracks down these Gods, tells you their backstory and how it effects their chosen paths of today. Here are some story example ideas.  Breaking News  From Children of the Dawn Old Tales of Greece by Elsie Finnimore Buckley     The Curse of Echo Echo an immortal nymph is now a medical transcriptionist.  She repeats everything she hears as she types.  She is not able to verbally tell her side of the story, but instead types it up for the reporter to read.      From Old Greek Nature Stories by F.A. Farrar     Apollo Currently a musician who sings of his past life as the God of the Sun He is a bit vain and believes...

Storytelling3: Lilith's Point of View

Image
This story is inspired by the story of Lilith written by Louis Ginzberg, from The Legend of the Jews. In the original version, you learn that Lilith was Adams first wife, but he sent her away because she would not submit to his will. This is her side of the story.  Lilith's Point of View "Hello. Welcome to my barren desert. I am Lilith, first wife of Adam. I was cast out of the garden of Eden for far lesser crimes than eating from the tree of knowledge. Yet my punishment is far more severe. Would you like to hear my story? " The dark haired woman in front of you is willowy and pale. She seems almost delicate, but there is a strength in her eyes that hints at something more. You nod you head and choose to listen.  "If you've read the bible, you know that there are two stories about human creation. One states that both a man and woman were formed from dust in God's image. The other talks about the woman coming from Adam's rib. Both stories are true, but Ad...

They are told this is because is because of their sin. Is that why children are more likely to see angels and ghosts, because they have not yet closed themselves off through sin?  Worship and Blessing from The Forgotten Books fo Eden by Rutherford H Platt Jr alter prayers - offer their own blood God's promise to return the gifts from the offer with his own flesh and blood God forbid Adam's continuous suici...

Feedback Thoughts

Image
For this assignment we were asked to read some articles about feedback and then write down our thoughts. I chose to read one article from each of the recommended sections. The results are as follows: To err is human – and a powerful prelude to learning Americans like to refer to the people who lived through and served in WW2 as the greatest generation. This may be because they struggled, learned from what was happening and then conquered. According to this article, this is the strategy we should be teaching our children in school. As both a higher education student and a parent, I tend to agree with this assessment. We have raised a generation of children who don't know how to struggle, and need safe spaces when things don't go their way. Parents go to schools and complain about teachers who give bad grades. No one is holding the children responsible for learning from failures. This stops our brains from experiencing memory reconsolidation, where we mentally correct ourselves a...
